Recent years, the development of radio utilization in the world is quite impressive. Especially, diversification and performance upgrade of radio equipment in the field of mobile communications become particularly notable, therefore the services of testing and certification for the conformity to the technical standards for wireless devices are increasingly important year by year.

　　Telecom Engineering Center (TELEC), former MKK, was founded in 1978. Since then, TELEC has been conducting certification services for radio equipment and calibration services for measuring instruments under the accreditations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) pursuant to the Radio Act of Japan, and also providing testing services for various kinds of radio frequency devices. Through those services, TELEC have endeavored for the development of Info-communication society.

　　TELEC keeps up the current position as a core of the certification and testing bodies of radio equipment in the Info-communications field, where the technical innovations are remarkably moving ahead in the world. Therefore, TELEC promotes the basic research and development of radio frequency measurements and the practical realization of those measurement technologies, and is actively going to advance the information sharing with the organizations concerned in the world to cope with the globalization in this field.
